Javor Bračić, pianist

RCMS is pleased to present award-winning Croatian pianist Javor Bracic on Sunday afternoon, December 18, from 2 - 4 p.m. in an intimate setting in the home of Christina and Ron Hirsch in Rhinebeck.

Mr. Bračić is a graduate of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where he studied the piano under Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and has been attending the graduate program of the Mannes College in New York since 2009 under Pavlina Dokovska. During his music studies, he attended master-classes delivered by distinguished artists and teachers such as Dag Achatz, Peter Eicher, Diane Andersen, Albert Portugheisa, and several classes delivered by Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. He has won a number of significant awards in Croatia, Italy, and Belgium, including the first prize at the following competitions: Etudes and Scales (1998), Luigi Stramesi (2001), Les Rencontres des Jeunes Pianistes (2001), Zlatko Grgošević Competition (2002), Rassegna Internazionale per giovani pianisti (2001), EMCY chamber music competition (2002).

Mr. Bračić attended in two EPTA conferences (Norway 1999, Hungary 2000), participated in the 7th International “Music. Youth. Hope” Festival in Petrozavodsk in Russia 2002, and at the Darko Lukić Memorial in Osijek. He has performed with I Solisti di Zagreb, and has held recitals in Croatia, Norway, Hungary, France, Germany, and Russia. His performing activities intensified with his move to New York where he performed in famous stages, such as the Steinway Hall, Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Museum, Ana Tzarev Gallery, and New York Historical Society. He organized a successful music lecture series Javor Bračić & Friends at the International House New York.

Javor Bračić has released an album titled “Tribute to Haydn”. He is also an active chamber musician, and his collaboration with violinist Antonia Loges and pianist Justine Verdier has earned him numerous awards from chamber music competitions.
